Open Billing in Strays

The trial and Free

New organisations get a 14-day trial with no card needed. The trial includes every feature, Business-only ones too, for up to 3 AWS accounts scanned weekly. Billing says the day it ends and, side by side, what you keep on Team and on Business; it also warns you before you choose Team that this ends the Business-only features. The plan that fits what you used in the trial is marked Closest to your trial: Business if you connected a whole AWS Organization or Jira or Linear, otherwise Team (more accounts alone don't make it Business: extra accounts on Team cost less). After the trial you move to Free until you choose a plan. Free keeps everything Strays has found and the decisions you've made, and scans one AWS account monthly for one person; it shows the latest scan only, allows one evidence pack download, and has no Slack or Teams messages, alerts, access reviews, leaver reports or tagging report. If Cloud Adept has given you a complimentary plan, or a trial with no end date, your Billing page says so, with the date it ends if there is one. If you've connected more accounts than your plan covers, the ones you tick are scanned (otherwise the first connected), and the rest wait until you upgrade or remove some.

Plans

Pay monthly, or yearly for two months free (Team saves £158 a year, Business £498). As you type a number of extra accounts, Billing works out the total, for example Total: £790 + 1 × £150 = £940 a year. Once you've paid, Billing shows when the plan renews and what that payment will be, broken down, for example Renews on 2 November 2027 for £940: Team £790 + 1 extra account × £150. These are list prices: a discount from a promotion code comes off them. No VAT is charged (Cloud Adept Limited isn't VAT registered yet).

Enterprise

For organisations with more than 15 AWS accounts: everything in Business, for as many accounts as you have, billed yearly by invoice. Choose Talk to us in Billing (or email support@getstrays.com) and we'll agree the number of accounts and a yearly price with you. We then set it up: Stripe emails the invoice to whoever you choose, with your purchase order number if you have one, payable within the days agreed (usually 30) by bank transfer, card or Direct Debit. Your plan changes to Enterprise straight away; you don't wait for the payment.

On Enterprise, Invoices and billing details in Billing opens Stripe's portal, where you can download invoices and update your billing details. To change the number of accounts, email us. If an invoice goes unpaid past its due date, we'll be in touch before anything changes.

Pounds and dollars

Strays' prices are in pounds sterling. The costs and savings Strays finds are in US dollars, because AWS bills in dollars. They are AWS's list prices, so they are estimates, before any discount or credit you have with AWS. Strays doesn't convert them to pounds: exchange rates change, and your AWS bill and Cost Explorer are in dollars, so you can compare like with like.

Choosing and changing a plan

Only admins can change billing. Choose a plan on the Billing page; you'll pay on Stripe's secure page and come back here. Afterwards, use Change plan for the plan or billing period and Extra AWS accounts to add or remove accounts. Changing plan asks first: the next page shows the new price (for example Team to Business: +£170 a month) and what you gain or lose, and nothing happens until you choose Yes, change. Stripe adds or credits the difference on your next invoice. You can't go below the number of accounts you have connected: remove some first.

Manage billing opens Stripe's portal to update your card, download invoices or cancel.

If you move from Business to Team, nothing is deleted. Tickets already made stay linked on their findings, but no new ones are made (including automatic ones), the evidence page goes back to Cyber Essentials, and cost by tag and Organizations onboarding show an upgrade note.

Cancelling

Cancel in Manage billing. The plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, and nothing more is charged: until then Billing says Your plan ends on and the date. Changed your mind before then? Renew it in Manage billing and it carries on as before. At the end of the period the plan becomes Free. When it does, Billing says Your subscription ended; you're on Free and lists what stopped working (Slack and Teams messages, alerts, access reviews, leaver reports, tagging, full history, scanning beyond one account, and the Business-only features). Your history is kept; Free shows the latest scan only. To delete everything instead, use Settings → Your data, after cancelling.

Payments and failed payments

The Payments list on the Billing page shows each payment, failure and refund, newest first. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it and we show a warning here; update your card in Manage billing. Bank payments can take a few days, and your plan starts when the payment arrives.
