Microsoft Teams messages
What you get
Strays posts to one Microsoft Teams channel, the same messages that go to Slack:
- New items for an owner, after each scan: a card naming the owner by email, listing what looks like theirs, each with a link to its ready-to-run fix.
- New security risks, within the hour, at the level you chose under New-risk alerts.
- Budget alerts for an AWS account.
Teams webhooks can't send direct messages or take button clicks, so there are no Keep or Snooze buttons: open the link and decide in Strays. Strays changes nothing in your AWS accounts. Teams is on the Team plan and above.
Connect it (an admin, once)
- In Teams, open the channel, choose More options (the three dots), then Workflows.
- Choose Post to a channel when a webhook request is received, name it (for example "Strays") and finish the steps.
- Copy the address Teams shows you. It looks like https://prod-00.uksouth.logic.azure.com:443/workflows/….
- Paste it into Settings under Microsoft Teams and choose Connect Teams, then Send a test message.
Keeping it safe
Anyone with the address can post to your channel, so treat it like a password. Strays stores it encrypted and never shows it again, and will only call addresses on Microsoft's own logic.azure.com and powerplatform.com hosts. To stop messages, choose Disconnect Teams, and delete the workflow in Teams if you want the address to stop working.
If nothing arrives
- Check the workflow is turned on in Teams (Workflows, then Manage your workflows).
- If the test message fails, make a new workflow and connect it again: the old address may have been deleted.
- Owners only appear when the scan found an email for them; add an
Ownertag with their email.
